Wilma McVeigh's Obituary
Wilma L. McVeigh, (nee Haller) age 88 , of Elyria, died Monday evening at the Lutheran Home in Westlake where she had resided the past year and a half.
She was born June 2, 1917 in Cleveland. She had resided in North Ridgeville for over 50 years before moving to Elyria in 1999.
She was a charter member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville.
She attended Akron Business College. She worker as a receptionist and dispatcher for Powell Builders Supply in Westlake for 15 years. She then worked at the Northview IGA grocery store in North Ridgeville until the late 1980's when she went to work in the office of Dr. Robert Testa in Westlake where she worked for several years.
Mrs. McVeigh enjoyed making crafts for local craft shows and was a member of North Ridgeville Craft Club.
Surviving are her son, Wayne Russell McVeigh of Lima, OH; two grandchildren, Laura Jean Johnson, Aaron Russell McVeigh, five great grandchildren including two by adoption and one by marriage and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Russell in 1986, infant daughter Jean Lucille McVeigh, brother, Lawrence Haller, sister Dorothy Geh and her parents, Albert and Lucille Haller.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge North Ridgeville. Reverend David Connor, interim pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate. Private internment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
