William Glawe's Obituary
William F. "Bill" Glawe, age 91, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at Parkside Villa, Middleburg Hts.
He was born in Cleveland, and was a resident of North Ridgeville since 1999 moving from North Olmsted.
Mr. Glawe served in the US Navy during WWII.
Bill worked for Hinckley Lighting for over 30 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Fairview Park where he was active with the Stewardship Team. He was also a member of the Walther League in the 1940's and 1950's, where he met his wife, Lois.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, playing baseball, basketball, cards and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lois (nee Nickel); daughter, Laura Barnes of North Ridgeville; sons, Bruce (Gale) Glawe of Naperville, Illinois, Rev. Jeffrey (Jackie) Glawe of Glenvil, Nebraska; grandchildren, Garrett Glawe, Britney Vanderheyden, Kirstin Glawe; sisters, Lydia Netland of Westlake, Doris Peterson of Annapolis, Maryland; brother, David Glawe of Bend, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jordan Glawe; parents, Elmer and Anna Glawe; son-in-law, Tyrone Barnes; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Rev. Ron Morgan will officiate.
Burial will be in Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon.
