Tommy was a good uncle. You could learn anything from military gun history to how to throw a ladder. I’m so glad I got to talk to him not too long ago, we shared firefighter/paramedic stories from both of our fire departments and of course great laughs along the way. I was able to tell him how much he impacted my choice to be a firemen. He will greatly be missed! My sincere condolences.
Tommy always called me Maddy Beth. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Please know how much love and sympathy I’m sending to your family.
My big brother was Einstein & Superman rolled together. When I was a kid I thought he could walk on water. He knew everything ( looking back, I’m sure he made a bunch of stuff up that I probably still believe today!) I remember all the times I’d see him helping Pop build planes, loading bullets or working on a car.I went to him for help and advice all the time. He was so cool with kids. I’ll never forget him pulling his teeth out to show his niece Nicole ,freaked the poor kid out she spent forever trying to remover hers and just about everyone else’s teeth! I was so proud of him when he became a firefighter. And I will never forget watching him, Pop ,Tim & Ken set off fireworks .
The last 7 years were awful for him. But he’s free now, walking with Jesus and catching up with Mom. Keep a spot for me brother I’ll see you when I shake this old suit off.
My thoughts go out to Ruby and the family. I spent a lot of time with Tommy hunting, finishing, and working on houses. Around 1978 or 79 Ruby bought a house in Oberlin. Tommy and I were remodeling it. We had a birthday party for Tommy that included “belly dancers”. I told Tommy that belly dancers were going to be there and he said, “Of god, I gotta go change my underwear!” We laughed about that for years. We had a lot of fun, including riding Teddys snowmobile 100 mph in the grass! Tommy, you will be missed.
I remember spending a day with Tommy many years ago. We put a new roof on Senta’s porch. A lot of laughs were shared that day. I always admired Tommy. He will be greatly missed.
