He was my friend, my inspiration, my drive to succeed, my teacher and most of all he was my father. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him. I liked to joke he was my Mr. Feeny, but as I grew older I realized that was truer than I ever knew and that he was that and much much more to many young men and women.
I learned so much from him that I cannot even start a list, it would be never ending. From fishing and water skiing to climbing and playing baseball he always had a leason to teach and was happiest when there was someone willing to learn. But really what he taught me most was about life, how to survive and how to cope with the world as it changed around us for better or worse.
What I will miss the most is working with him on a project and hearing him hum "strangers in the night" as he worked.... For years I whistled that tune as I worked and never knew where I got it from. Then one day he came out to my house and helped me install a storm door and while working he started humming that tune I had heard so many times as a child and I knew instantly where I had picked it up. It's those little things that will keep him in our minds and our hearts every day.
I love you Dad, thank you for always being there for me.
