Susan Hronesz's Obituary
Susan J. Hronesz, age 58, passed away on March 10, 2009. She was born on April 26, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Gladys Kathryn and Charles Eugene Shepherd (both deceased). Sue was a resident of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and beloved wife of Bruce Hronesz, a salesman with Sun Chemical. She leaves behind her two children Kristopher Charles Linquist, who lives in San Jose, California and who is a technologist with Cisco Systems, and Alicia Linquist, who is presently a teacher with the Peace Corp volunteer in Nkwatia, Ghana, Africa. She also leaves behind her step-children Joe Hronesz and Lou Hronesz, both of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Granddaughter Noelle. Remaining behind to cherish her memory are her sisters Kathryn Shepherd Ridley of Simi Valley, California, Gail Vannelli of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Jane Kelly of Tucson Arizona; her brother Scott Shepherd of Miami, Florida; her step-sisters Christine Allison and Ruth Schmidt, and her step-brothers Ralph Schmidt and Lee Schmidt. She was the loving aunt of her niece Katie Kelly and her nephews Cary Kelly, Richard Vannelli, and Michael Vannelli. Also loved by her are brother-in-laws Bob Ridley, Blake Kelly, and daughter-in-law Fara. Sue graduated from Iowa State with a BS degree in Zoology and from Buena Vista University with a BS in Computer Science and Math. She was also a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She was an Enrolled Actuary, a member of the Society of Actuaries, and worked for many years in that position. Sue was an animal lover who had a passion for gardening, and she was well-known for her legendary zucchini bread and homemade salsa. Her sense of humor was the most resonating part of her personality. She loved people in general, her friends especially, and enjoyed getting together with them for laughter, fun and card playing. She was an exuberant football fan, especially at Super Bowl time, and cheered heartily for the Cleveland Browns. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, who send these parting words: "God saw that you were suffering and wishing to be free. He put his arms around you and whispered, 'Come with me.' How suddenly you left us, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home. We know your soul is soaring now, your toil put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. May you rest in peace in God's loving care."
Friends may call Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 1:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 1:30 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home. Chaplain Mark Telepak will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Arthritis Foundation, 4630 Richmond Rd., Cleveland, OH 44128. 800-283-7800.
