Roger William Dodd's Obituary
ROGER WILLIAM DODD, formerly of Huron, Ohio, was born on July 24, 1941 in Cleveland and passed away on February 14, 2014 in Fairview, Texas. Roger spent his working years as a proud Rocky River Firefighter. Roger loved the camaraderie of the other fireman both on and off duty. Roger was also a long time Lakewood Barber touching multiple generations with his gentle spirit and infectious laugh. Roger loved the islands, boating, fishing, a motorcycle ride through the valley and always a good chuckle with friends at the Huron Yacht Club. Roger was a devoted father to Dolly Stoddart (Jeff), grandfather to Julie Stoddart Hays, Jennifer Stoddart and Jaime Stoddart, great-grandfather to Hattie Hays, brother to Dick Dodd and Cherry (nee Dodd) Hammer and many nieces and nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Margaret Cherry Dodd, stepmother Mildred Dodd and sister Peggy Dodd Goetz. Prophetically passing away on Valentine's Day seemed completely appropriate for Roger as he was a Sweetheart to all who were lucky enough to know him, he will be dearly missed. A 9:30 AM Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Behind the Woods Restaurant, 21919 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River.
