Shari Schartman Walczak
Nancy and Jack: I have so many good memories of Ricky, almost all from the 1950s and 60s when we went every Sunday to Uncle Ray and Aunt Rita's house to see our cousins Ricky, Jackie, Anita, and Butchy. Rick was the gentle giant who seemed always to be smiling, and his laughter was memorable and infectious!
The best "amusement" ride I ever was on was when Ricky piled 7 of us kids into the huge shovel of a frontloader and drove us around the farm, raising, lowering and tipping the shovel to our immense delight. He then towed us around the farm in a wagon hitched to the tractor. It was the best day ever! (sorry the farm photos are blurry; the pic of Rick and Dave is much clearer).
My heart goes out to you both and to all your family and friends who loved Rick Schartman. We sure did!
