In 1998, I wrote a poem for my mother and presented it to her, Marion Green. From that day forward, I became a Gazer and Pat became my mother also. As the years have passed I realized how incredibly lucky I am, and that this poem applies to Pat as well. Thank you Patty for helping me to become the best mother and wife that I can be.
My Mother by Kelsy Gazer Feb 28th 1998
The things my mother's given me would fill a book,
So I'll simply take the time to thank her for all the things she TOOK.
My Mother took my brain and taught it to learn,
She took my heart and taught it to burn.
She took my body and showed it how to work and play,
She took my doubt and taught me to throw it away.
She took my soul and taught it right from wrong,
She took my spirit and helped it to sing it's song.
She took my pain so my soul it did not stain,
But most of all, she TOOK my hand and held me up when I could not stand.
