Mildred was one of my Mother's best friends. She was so dedicated in visiting/calling my Mom and taking her to church. We have so many memories from the Grace Brethern Church where we became friends. My thoughts and prayers go to Diane and her brothers and the rest of the family. Mildred was very special to all of us.
Mrs. Mildred is someone that as soon as I think of GBC, my mind jumps to her. I used to love always going over every Sunday morning before Morning Worship and giving her a hug. She always asked me how my life was going, how I was doing in school and when I was going to sing again in church. She was the sweetest, nicest, yet fiery-est little old lady I knew. I will miss her so much and what I wouldn't give to give her a hug one more time.
To Diane,Harold,Wesley and Keith our condolences on the loss of your mother and my sister. Your Mother faced many challenges in her life and conquered them all with unending optimism and faith, a characteristic many of us wish we could emulate.
I am honored to have shared the same parents with her and would hope that I can live my life to her standards.

Aunt Mildred always had a smile and was always there to help. She was always there to support our mom (Cora) when she was sick. She will be missed!

Mildred had a profound impact on my life. In the summer of 1988, she was my teacher at Vacation Bible School. During that week, she led me to the Lord. Everything that I am today hinges on the impact that she had in that moment. She was one of the kindest and sweetest ladies that I have ever known. She was a mentor, a teacher, an example, and a friend.
Her willingness to serve and not complain has always been an inspiration to me. I believe that she is the definition of what a Godly servant is. I can say with confidence that in the moment when she drew her final breath and she stood in the presence of her maker, the Lord greeted her with "well done, good and faithful servant."
I have many memories of Mildred, she was my friend, my children's Sunday School teacher at S.V. Grace Brethren Church. I first met Mildred almost 48 years ago before my marriage. She was at my wedding, infact I still have the set of mixing bowls she gave us for a wedding present. Mildred taught me to arrange flowers for church dinners and to set the tables for our Christmas dinners. She taught me to hand quilt, even let me work on one with her. Times like quilting gave us an opportunity to discuss all kinds of issues, but mainly to talk about the Lord. I always wanted to be like Mildred, she loved the Lord and was not afraid to let others know it. The world is a much better place for having her here. I will truly miss my friend.
Oh my...what a wonderful, wise, gentle spirit has been taken from us. Mildred taught all of my children at one time or another and handled them so well, my daughter misbehaved and her father went in to rescue Mildred and found her laying over Mildred's lap while she continued teaching the class!...She was such a hard working woman, always doing some sort of work at the Church (SVGBC) and offered so much wisdom during ladies Bible studies, although she thought she was not wise at all. She taught my girls how to crochet and knit and was ever so patient with everyone. I always, always received a birthday card from her as did the rest of the family. There are so many memories and all of them good and it would take pages to tell of all the wonderful things she did, I know she is happy now and no longer suffering in her earthly shell. I will ever be thankful for her friendship and the blessing she brought into my life.
She will be greatly missed. I remember one time at Spring Valley I sang a song for our Singspiration that I was afraid would be so "rocky" and Mildred clapped her hands to the song and told Pastor Jeff we should have more music like that....lol...I was very sad to hear she passed, but now she is safe in the arms of Jesus now. My thoughts our with her family...Love and miss everyone.
