Marion L Smith's Obituary
Marion L. Smith (nee Bischof), age 67, of North Ridgeville, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hospice of the Western Reserve following a 4 year battle with ovarian cancer.
Marion was born on June 26, 1947 in Cleveland and resided for the past 16 years in North Ridgeville. She had previously lived in Westlake, Lakewood, and Parma. Marion received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University, and then went on to earn her Masters from The Ohio State University. She taught math for the Lakewood City School District for 29 years, serving as Mathematics Department Chairperson for 15 of those years.
Hobbies included reading, gardening, sewing, bird watching, and bike riding.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Roy; three sisters: Barbara (James) Krys of South Carolina, Marge Bischof of Lakewood, and Donna Bowers of Broadview Heights; sister-in-law Lois Cooper of Connecticut, brother-in-law Robert Francis of Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews, including Robert Bowers and Ryan Bowers. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Bischof, her mother, Irene (nee Rossman) Bischof, brother-in-law, John Bowers, and sister-in-law Caroline Francis. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St. Cleveland, OH 44119.
