Margueritte West's Obituary
Margueritte B. West, 93, formerly of Warsaw, North Carolina, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at North Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville, Ohio, where she was a resident. Margueritte, daughter of the late Charlie and Sue (McCullen) Britt, was born February 27, 1919. She married a special man, Lewis Ray West, on July 1, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2004. Two brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.
A graduate of East Carolina University, Margueritte taught elementary school teacher for 35 years. She was an active member of Warsaw United Methodist Church; involved with local women's clubs; was an Officer of the Delta Kappa Gamma Education Society; and a longtime Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed reading, party planning, and will be fondly remembered for sending out special occasion cards and acknowledgements. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved son, Doug; his wife, Cindy and grandson, Zack, all of North Ridgeville, Ohio; and a host of relatives, friends and former students.
A memorial service to celebrate Margueritte's life will be held at Friday, August 10th at 2:00 P.M. at Warsaw United Methodist Church, 107 West Plank Street, Warsaw, N.C. 28398. Burial will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Warsaw United Methodist Church.
