Lonnie A. Tollett Sr.'s Obituary
Lonnie A. Tollett Sr., age 61, of Elyria, passed away at his home on December 15, 2015.
He was born on June 7, 1954 in Elyria, and has lived there for the past 45 years, moving from North Ridgeville. He worked as a truck driver for the Great Lakes Construction Company, retiring in 2014. Lonnie was a member the Teamsters, Local 436 and the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.
Lonnie truly enjoyed his work, and even through his illness longed to get back into the seat of his truck. He enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing, hosting an annual fish fry to share his catch with family and friends. A true family man, nothing made him happier than attending family reunions in Tennessee, and spending time with his wife, sons and grandchildren.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy (nee McKee); sons Lonnie Jr. (Sherri) of Elyria, Tommy (Heidi) of Lorain and Gary F. (Renee’) of Sheffield Lake; grandchildren Courtney (Jonny) Olecki, Nathan, Seth, Tyler, Nicholas, Noah, Benjamin and Samuel Tollett; great grandchildren Lukas and Landon Olecki; siblings Linda Cather of Elyria, Gary Tollett of Elyria, Wanda Cutlip of Elyria and Shannon Griffin of Lake Tansi, TN; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Andrew Tollett; parents David Tollett and Edna (nee Goddard) King; brother Jerry Tollett.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where Funeral Services will take place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Marshall Hyer will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
