Most people would ask why this is my favorite picture of my father. He’s hooked to dialysis in Cleveland clinic with both kidneys failing at a young age. He’s a match to a member of the family. My uncle Leo. On his 18 birthday my uncle signed his rights to help my father live by giving him ( in a very new experimental way at the time ) one of his kidneys. The kidney transplant worked and My brother and I are here today because of him. He could have said no. He couldn’t have matched. They both could have died. But he sacrificed his own life to try and save his big brothers. I believe his purpose on earth was to save my father. To make sure he had a wife , kids and grandkids and to be able to live. So to me he wasn’t just a godfather or uncle. He was my reason for being. Now if I ever need him all I have to do is look at my father. He holds a piece of Uncle Leo forever in him just because an 18 year old boy said yes.
