Kenneth Zeman's Obituary
Kenneth Frank Zeman, age 79, of Avon, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at his home, following a short illness.
He was born in Cleveland and grew up in Garfield Heights. He graduated from Garfield Heights High School and Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
He had resided in Avon for 50 years and spent his winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida after his retirement.
He enjoyed teaching and coaching and retired after 37 years, ending his career at Oberlin High School. He previously taught at several schools including North Ridgeville and Vermilion. He was inducted into the Lorain County Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. He coached many sports but wrestling was his most rewarding sport. He was a member of The Northeastern Ohio District Athletic Administrators Association and was president of Avon Little League for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was involved in many sports for many years. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren participating in their activities and sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eileen (nee Marchione); sons, Keith, Kevin (wife Heidi) and Kent (wife Lynette) all of Avon; six loveable grandchildren, Zane, Lauren, Tate, Brynn, Coleman and Dylan all of Avon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose (nee Hacka) Zeman and sister, Arlene Beck.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM followed by a 10 AM Mass at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon. Rev. John Misenko, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
