Mrs. Schneider was my very first experience with a true Italian mom. She would send care packages to Deb, and as a friend and roommate I felt the love that a mailed "Stromboli" could convey. She always made enough to share. The Schneider household held so few pretenses that when there you just became another family member. If you ever experienced this, it usually included side splitting, mascara running laughter. Mrs. Schneider refused to let us get mired in the struggles of the day. She'd tell us to pull up our boots straps, get ourselves together and start over. What an honor to know her and all she sent out into the world through her family and faith. She brings to mind the quote, "preach the gospel, and when necessary, use words". May your memories of her soothe your broken hearts. Long live the rubber tree plant!
