Karen was my boss for the last three years, but she was also much more than that to me. She was a very special and kind person. She always knew how to make things that came hard for me easier by taking the time to encourage me and cheer me on. If I was upset about something she could always turn my frown upside-down in a matter of minutes. I will miss her greeting me at the door with a smile and a compliment. I will miss her lunchbox strap forever blocking the microwave door. I will miss her savvy style and her warm hugs. I will forever hear her voice telling me to carry on and do what I do best. I am so grateful and lucky to have known her.

My dear sister, Karen, was an inspiration. She was a leader in our family, the first to marry, the first to have a baby girl. She helped me to believe it was possible to have my own family. Karen had all the right priorities: love for family and friends. She had a wonderful laugh and strong opinions. I always admired her ability to not only stand up for herself, but for others as well. Karen was an artist and she used interior design, gardening and merchandising to express her art and her vision. I loved her so.... "Hope and faith, born of my sorrow,

The good times we had the hard times we got through.
