John Evans' Obituary
John R. Evans, age 55, of North Ridgeville, died Saturday morning at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born in Whiteville, West Virginia, and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1988; having moved from Elyria.
He served in the United States Army in Vietnam.
Mr. Evans was a tow motor and crane operator over the past 32 years at the US Steel Lorain Tubular Plant. He was a member of the UAW Local 1104 District 1.
He enjoyed camping, open wheel racing and NASCAR..
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Beverly F. (nee Wilford) Evans; sons, Robert F. Evans, of Grafton and John D. Evans, of North Ridgeville; mother, Edith (nee Harris) Evans, of Elyria; brother, Jack Evans, of Florida and sister, Jewel Evans, of Elyria.
He is preceded in death by his dad, Harry Evans.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Sharon Kiesel, christian education director, at the North Eaton Christian Church Disciples, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon; with the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 conducting the Military Service.
