John Demyan's Obituary
John Paul Demyan, age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his home.
Born in Galloway, West Virginia he was a resident of North Ridgeville since 1946 moving from Cleveland.
John served in the US Navy during WWII.
He worked as a superintendent for Ohio Water Development Authority and later for the City of North Ridgeville Waste Water Treatment Plant, where he worked for many years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, North Ridgeville Lions Club, where he was past president, then later became a member of the LaGrange Lions Club. He also belonged to the USS John W. Weeks Destroyer DD-701 Association.
He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, restoring old tractors and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mildred (nee McVeigh); daughters, Jean (Dan) Lachman of Elyria, Joan (Tom) Strickler of Wellington, Judith Hoffstetter of North Ridgeville; 5 grandchildren; brother, Mike (Helen) Demyan of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John P. Sr. and Anna (nee Barilla) Demyan; brothers, George and Andy Demyan; son-in-law, Walter "Skip" Hoffstetter.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 – 7 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be on Friday at 9:30 AM. A 10 AM Mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road.
Burial will be in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
