James D. "Jim" Barlow, age 67, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Fairview General Hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Read Obituary
Found out about Jim's passing yesterday from PBU Today. Jim was my editor in college, and much more. His progressive thinking set him apart. I am sorry I had lost track but the memories are strong and positive. My condolences to Janet and the family.
I worked with Jim when we served Christian Medical Society together. Jim was a friend and mentor to me on my first position out of seminary. We shared duty time together at Deer Valley Ranch in Colorado as well as an Intervarsity Project in Illinois. I am saddened by his passing but rejoice in the knowledge that we will meet again.

I had the honor of being a student in Jim's Bioethics class at Tri-C West. He made Bioethics both fun and interesting. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children. He will certainly be missed as a Professor.

Sheldon and I are so sad and shocked by the news of Jim's passing. I know that it has been quite a while since we were in touch but I think of you very often and keep hoping that I will receive a call before the APAP conference to tell me that you will be in New York.
I read that Jim died after a "short illness" meaning that this was very unexpected and very much harder to experience.
Yours was a true affair of the heart. I know how much you loved one another and what a good life you were able to make together. I understand that nothing can give you the comfort that only time can afford. Please know that we are greatly saddened by this loss and that our thoughts are with you.

I was a good friend of jims in the 70s and 80s we were involved in a gup church that was a branch of Grace Haven Fellowship both of us took people thru some turbulent times in the church he was a solid guy and leader and family guy god bless!! Guy Mazza PA.
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I had worked with Jim professionally for many years through our interest and devotion to Bioethics. Jim was a gracious person and contributed so much insight into discussions during our meetings. Jim will be missed by many people. His influence will forever remain...... May he rest in peace. I am shocked and dismayed at Jim's passing. I value his insight on the Bioethics committee so very much. Jim's perspectives were kind and thoughtful and his leadership will be sorely missed. Walk in peace Jim.
I have been richly blessed to have known Jim. He was an amazing person!
In need of a ride to Cleveland Airport from Youngstown, Janet was so kind to drive down and pick me up from my mother's home, take me to their home and Jim and she welcomed me and had me sleep over for the night. The next day I was taken to the airport to catch my flight. It was a very much appreciated act of kindness from both Janet and Jim, and one that I will never forget.
