Irene Carney's Obituary
Irene A. Carney (nee Noll), age 84, died Sunday at Saint John West Shore Hospital following a sudden illness.
She was a resident of the Northridge Health Center and had lived in North Ridgeville most of her life.
She graduated from North Ridgeville High School and then worked in the Erie Railroad office until she married.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Noll Construction Company, Hall's Greenhouse and local area churches. She also worked for Avondale Golf Club, Avon and aided in establishing a Women's Golf League.
Playing cards, board games, reading and working puzzles were her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed visits with relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Griffin, of Naples, FL; her brother, Richard Noll, of North Ridgeville, and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Carney (1982); her sister, Clara Fitzpatrick; her brothers, Raymond, Bernard and George and her parents, George and Katherine Noll.
She was a member of Saint Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville and also attended Saint Mary's Church in Elyria. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Saint John.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Wednesday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where prayers will be said at 9:30 AM on Thursday; followed by 10:00 AM Mass at Saint Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Stephen Kaminski, pastor, will be the celebrant. Reverend Charles Ryba, pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will be a concelebrant.
Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
