Irene- Although I just met her a few months ago at Nothridge Health Center, she quickly became my best friend and companion. I was only at Northridge for 2 days before she welcomed me to her card table and introduced me to her friends. We became fast friends and I miss her dearly. If we weren't playing cards or board games we were watching movies or just having nice conversations. This place is not the same without her. We continue to play cards in her honor, as we know that that is what she would want us to do. To you, her family, from me and my kids who all came to know her, our deepest sympathies for a lovely lady lost, thanks for making my transition to Northridge a little easier than expected.

Irene, it is amazing how our lives crossed at different time in different ways. First you were my neighbor when I was a child, then I married a son of your cousin, Mary Catherine Hildebrand Griffiths, and last I reconnected with you when I brought you Holy Communion at EMH. You always were so caring and kind to me, and always interested in how my family was. I regret that I didn't see your obituary until your funeral was over and I couldn't express my sympathies to Kathy and the rest of your family. Rest in God's love and peace.

Aunt Irene,
I Thank You for all that you did for me. You taught me various card games, how to play ping pong, and drive a stick shift car. I loved going on trips with you and playing ghost(spelling game)and singing songs.
You were,a kind,patient,loving,and generous person with a great sense of humor. You and Uncle Jerry treated your nieces and nephews as though we were your own children.
You will always be in my heart!

Aunt Irene - One of the greatest Aunt's and role models that ever lived - I will never forget all the trips she took us all on and that she taught me to sew - one of the most valuable things I ever learned in my life. She also was a very easy going person - that tried to find the bright side of every situation. I will miss talking to you and your letters. You were like a second mother to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks, Aunt Irene, for all of the love and patience you gave us so unselfishly. The trips you took us on started a wanderlust in me that continues to this day. You met everything in life with joy, wonder and faith. Barb and I will always cherish our memories of spending time at the Yahtzee table with you, all of us laughing like kids. Your life goes on in so many of us who loved you so much.
