My deepest condolences to the Burns family and their friends. I didn't actually know Mr. Burns, although we both worked at the Chevrolet Parma plant at the same time for a period (1974-1993 for me). However, I did get to meet Mr. Burns during his hospitalization at Elyria Memorial Hospital, and through his son Nathan came to learn some wonderful things about Fred.
Their shared love of cars was but one of the wonderful things. To me, it is illustrative of the love Mr. Burns had for his family as shown through shared experiences. Nathan's attention to his father is illustrative of the love given back. From that, I can tell that Mr. Burns was a special person who will be greatly missed.
Unfortunately, I am out of town and will miss Mr. Burns' service, but I would attend if I could just to tell the family how touched I was just to know him if even briefly. God bless Fred Burns and his family. May he rest in peace.
