David W. Kennett's Obituary
David W. Kennett, age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Newark, OH and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1969.
He served in the US Army from 1955-1958, stationed in Europe.
Technology was one of his passions. He worked as a Television Engineer for Ohio Bell and Ameritech for 23 years before retiring in 1992.
He was an active member of Fields United Methodist Church in North Ridgeville, Northern Ohio Amateur Radio Society (W8KFJ) and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. In 1950, he took a round-the-world trip as a teenager after winning a sales contest. He enjoyed amateur radio, model trains, making YouTube videos, flying a Piper Tri-Pacer, camping, boating on Lake Erie and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Juanita (nee Mehne); son, Bradley (Michele) of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Jasmine (Jonathan) Monacelli of Elyria, Laurel Kennett of North Ridgeville; niece, Nancy (Larry) Claggett of Delaware, OH; nephews, Jim Hotchkiss of California, Jon Hotchkiss of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norval and Laurel (nee Barringer) Kennett.
A public drive thru visitation will be held on Monday from 1-2PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
Services will be for immediate family only but will be live streamed on Facebook Monday at 2PM.
Private burial will be at Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
