Our sympathy to the Smick family. We have fond memories of our families growing up together. May he rest in peace.

Chuck was a longtime friend and neighbor. We watched his children grow, get married and start their lives away from home. Chuck got our family involved with the North Ridgeville Lions Club. He sponsored Carol in the Lions Club. Chuck was a longtime involved member of the Lions. Most of all we loved the Smick family landscaping. It was all stone. Chuck took longer time removing weeds than it would have taken him to cut grass. May God bless the family and he will be missed. Love and blessings from the Shaffers
I am one of your dad’s neighbors, I live on the other side of Gary and Cheryl. Please accept my condolences to you and your family.
During the beginning of the pandemic, I started baking cookies to share with neighbors and he appreciated them. Then I started making some stew and soups and would take those to him also. He always drove up my driveway to return the containers.
Once, I gave him some split pea soup with ham and potatoes, and all he said was “my mother used to make that”. I got the feeling that he didn’t really like it but accepted it graciously nonetheless.
