Carlyle E. Smith's Obituary
Carlyle E. Smith, age 70, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Stein Hospice Unit in Sandusky. He was born in Fort Riley, Kansas and had been a resident of Sandusky for the past 2 years formerly of Norwalk. He was a former chemist for NASA and worked as a musician playing acoustic guitar until recently. Carlyle enjoyed coaching, playing and writing music. He was a humble man. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Dawn; daughter Janette Smith of Marion; grandchildren Nicholas, Alexandrea, Kaitlyn, Chloe, Silas; brother John (Tina) Smith of Monroeville, OH; sisters Cindy (Bill) Allen of Norwalk, Jan (Dale) Perkins of Norwalk; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey in 2022, parents Bernard and Marilyn Smith. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Service Friday at 11 am in the funeral home. Pastor Harvey Studer will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Sandusky, OH www.steinhospice.org.
