Family Ties
Mike, Mark and I were fortunate enough to have had pretty idyllic, safe and secure childhoods filled with fun, laughter and adventures. Part of our growing up and what made our childhoods so special was our holidays spent with our cousins Jeanne, Jim and Dan, our Uncle Joe and Aunt Alma and our Grandparents, Grandma and Pop. We created some great memories over holidays spent together, all documented by Dad in what seems like thousands of photos and reels of film.
Our Pop and Grandma were the nicest, most sincere and giving grandparents any grandchild could ask for. They created a foundation from which strong family ties would grow.
Aunt Alma carried on this tradition with her love and care dedicated to her family. She was an incredibly thoughtful person, always remembering my Birthday with a card. Even when I moved to New Zealand she was one of the few who didn’t consider it the moon and realized a card would still make it across the Pacific with the correct postage applied. And her cards were the best, I’ve saved many of them.
I always enjoyed our phone chats whenever we were back home, we always made sure to have a catch up which in later years included Phil as well. She would fill us in on the happenings of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, very proud of each and every one and all their achievements. Sometimes it would turn out to be a very long chat due to the extended nature of her continually growing family!
She loved her family and she was loved back. She continued that legacy of love and strong family ties. She was a good person, we loved her and we will miss her, Rest In Peace Aunt Alma.
Love Beth and Phil
