Yukiko St. John's Obituary
Yukiko St. John, age 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Safe Haven Elder Care in Avon Lake. She was born on March 20, 1936 in Totori, Japan, and has been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1997, moving from Geneva. Yukiko worked in food service at Geneva High School, retiring in 1997 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Ridge Church of the Nazarene in North Ridgeville. In her free time, Yukiko enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making blankets and slippers for family and friends. She was fond of cooking, especially Japanese cuisine. The summer months would find her tending to her flower garden or taking long walks with her friends she enjoyed so much. When the weather turned cold here in Ohio, she and her husband Don would seek the warmth of Florida for the winter months, where they had many friends. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Michael (Gaye) St. John of Avon; daughter-in-law Anita St. John of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Amanda (Jason) France, Ashley (Joshua) Revels, Krysten (Jacob) Decker, Brianna St. John and Erica (Anthony) Sanfilippo; great grandchildren Jaxon, Maddox, Croix, Brooklyn, Cooper, Mariella and one on the way in March and two more in April.
Yukiko was preceded in death by her husband Donald St. John; son Richard St. John; parents Yoshiko and Shuichiro Mita; siblings Shigemi, Kenji, Takiko, Masako and Fusaichi Mita. Services will be private.
