William B Rogers' Obituary
William B. Rogers, age 92, of Elyria, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Joshua Tree Nursing Home in North Olmsted.
He was born in Brownton, West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria since 1962 moving from Junior, West Virginia. He was a graduate of Kasson High School and attended Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia.
William Served in the US Army from 1945-1947 with the 75th Armored Division.
He worked as a carpenter with Carpenter Union Local 305 and retired from Oberlin College in 1989. During his career he had worked on many local building jobs such as the County Administration building, Ohio Turnpike and Pennsylvania Turnpike.
He was a member of Community Methodist Church in Elyria and a life member of VFW Post 1079 in Elyria.
He enjoyed baseball, golfing, hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Paul Jr.) Moore of Elyria, grandchildren, Paul (Krissy) and Jessica Moore, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Charles Rogers of Philippi, West Virginia and sisters, Rose VanAmburgh and Nettie (Joe) Tackas of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 2018, parents, John and Atha (nee Myers), brother, Woodrow Rogers, sisters, Lillie Rogers, Inez Emerson., Virginia Biller and Laura Blake.
Services will be private.
Private burial will be at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
