William F Lightner's Obituary
William F Lightner Jr., age 79, North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was born in Cleveland, OH and has lived here in the area nearly 40 years since moving from West Park, OH.
Bill worked as a shipping supervisor for Arnco in Elyria. He enjoyed a variety of different activities that reflect his adventurous spirit. He was a proficient bowler and found solace in camping in the outdoors.
He is survived by his children William F IV (Tammy) of Findlay, Ohio, Robert M (Nicole) of Waxhaw, NC, and Elizabeth A Lightner of Parma, OH. Bill was the loving grandfather of Kenny and Kinley Lightner. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Diane M (nee Massey), his brother Melvin Wayne Lightner and sister Teri Johnson.
Friends and family may call at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, on Monday, July 20, from 5-8 PM. A celebration of life service will be held in Bill’s honor on Tuesday, July 21, at 10 AM at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest immediately following at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his honor to Stay-A-While Cat Shelter @https://stayawhilecatshelter.org/donations as he loved is cats Tabby, Cricket, Kallie, Mia, and Tinker.
