William D. "Bill" Green's Obituary
William D. “Bill” Green, age 77, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Falkville, Alabama and had been a resident of Elyria since 1954.
He worked at Luxaire for 17 years and Lehman Cartage for 25 years, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Green was a member of Fields United Methodist Church in North Ridgeville; Mercy Adaptive Sports Group and Masonic Lodge in Elyria.
Bill enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing and had gotten a hole-in one, playing cards and bowling, where he once bowled a perfect 300.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Carol (nee Brown); son, James Donald Green of Hanceville, Alabama; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Connie (Brian) May of Bloomington, Indiana; step-son, Charles (Kathy) Edgar of Cuyahoga Falls; three step-grandchildren; brothers, Hoyt (Kathy) Green of Taylor, Michigan, Harold Green of Cleveland, David (Michelle) Green of North Ridgeville; sisters, Elizabeth Burns and Gladys Linton of Cullman, Alabama and Brenda (Ed) Sawyer of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by sons, Lee Alan Green, William Michael Green; step-daughter, Deanna Hernandez; brothers, Leon and Lloyd Green, parents, Homer and Sudia Green and his beloved dog, Toby.
Memorial Service Sunday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Rd., North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to New Life Hospice, 5525 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035, the Mercy Adaptive Sports Group, 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053 or to the Fields United Methodist Church.
