William Critchfield's Obituary
William R. Critchfield age 71 of Sheffield Village passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Salt Lick Township, PA and has been a resident of Sheffield Village for the past three years. He lived most of his life in the Elyria and North Ridgeville areas. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years retiring in 1992. After retiring, he went to work for Budget Auto Parts in Elyria and Lorain for seven years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and had served during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Nadaline "Nan" (nee Gerlak), 2 daughters, Carol R. Brown and Shawn M. (Erik) Kolesar both of N. Olmsted, a son Timothy R. Critchfield of Romulus, NY., 4 granddaughters, Carrie Kemp, Patti Critchfield and Dana and Jayne Kolesar and 2 great grandchildren, Angel and Brahnnon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Clarence Critchfield and by a daughter, Martha Eileen. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, August 24, 2008 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where friends will be received beginning at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to New Life Hospice 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
