William O. Carpenter's Obituary
William O. Carpenter, age 87, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Lifecare Center of Elyria.
He was born in Avon Lake and had been a resident of Elyria since 1969. He previously had lived in Medina, Cleveland, Seville, Westlake and North Ridgeville.
William worked in shipping at the Ford Motor Company Brookpark Plant, retiring after 38 years.
He was a member of East Elyria Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.
William enjoyed Traveling, Camping, working in the yard, but most of all just setting on his porch and watching the birds and nature.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty Jane (nee Robertson); daughters, Carrie (Harvey) James of Norwalk, Cheryl (John) Panagiotis of Bellevue; sons, David (Sharil) Carpenter of Oskaloosa, Kansas, Daniel (Amy) Carpenter of Berea, Dennis (Debra) Carpenter of Elyria; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Denise Beckley, Virginia Jane Carpenter, granddaughter Melanie James, parents, Orville and Cecelia (nee DeChant) Carpenter; brothers, Robert and Del Carpenter.
Private burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
A Public Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Sunday June 19th at East Elyria Congregation of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall 39099 Chestnut Ridge Road Elyria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kingdom Hall.
