William Burslem III's Obituary
William Burslem III, age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a long battle with Alzheimers.
He was born on April 26, 1944 in Douglas, AZ and has lived in North Ridgeville for the past 16 years, moving from Avon Lake. He worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Travel Ports of America and Director of Enterprise Systems of TravelCenters of America, retiring in 2014.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed golfing and playing bridge, but most important to him was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou; daughters Karen (Dustin) Wolgast of Rochester NY and Nancy (Matt) Hedberg of North Ridgeville; sons William Robert Burslem of Elyria and Scott (Renee) Burslem of Rochester, NY; grandchildren William (Erin), Maddy, Kathryn, Sarah, Alex, Peter, Mary Grace, Allyson and Lindy; sisters Judy (Robert) Allen of Phoenix, AZ and Debbie Wilson of Virginia; aunt and Godmother Beverly Ellis; many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Jr and Doris (nee Peters) Burslem.
Memorial Mass Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070 followed by a luncheon at the church. Rev. Neil KooKoothe will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in William’s name to SarahCare Adult Day Care, 11303 Pearl Road, Strongsville, 44136 or the Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake 44145.
