William "Bill" K. Wood's Obituary
William “Bill” K. Wood, age 82, of Columbia Station, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Hts.
He was born in Caldwell, West Virginia, moved to Cleveland in 1953 and had been a resident of Columbia Station since 1960.
Bill served in the US Air Force.
He worked as a machine operator for General Motors in Parma for 23 years, retiring in 1973.
He enjoyed coaching Pee Wee Football and Little League Baseball in Columbia Station, was an avid sports fan and was a Golden Glove Champion Boxer in his youth. He also loved fishing, camping and was an all-around handyman.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shirley (nee Morgan); children, Debbie (Bill) Wood-Vetter, Ricky Wood, and Tammy (Joe) Wood-Allen all of Wilmington, Wayne Wood of Columbia Station, Jerry Wood of Delaware and Danny (Jennifer) Wood of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Harmon Wood of Homerville; brother-in-law, Denny Morgan of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Etta Mae (nee Gillespie) Wood and brother, Harold Lee Wood.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Monday at 1PM at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, 502 Monroe Ave., Lewisburg, WV.
Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
