William "Bill" D. Harper's Obituary
William Denny Harper, age 79, of Ochlocknee, GA, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on January 6, 2017.
“Bill” was born on January 24, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio and has lived in Ochlocknee for the past 20 years, moving from Elyria. He was a 13 year U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, attended First Baptist Church of Ochlocknee. He worked as a floor man at Avon Lake Ohio Assembly Plant, in the Econoline Paint Dept. for the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, gathering pecans and working on his lawn.
He is survived by his daughter Tina (Albert Lockridge) Long of Elyria; son William “Troy” (Tonya) Harper of Louisville, KY; life partner and best friend Bonnie Snyder of GA; grandchildren Jessica Rogers, Cassandra Spangler, Jenna Harper, Janelle Harper, Bobby Long, Jr. and William “Christian” Harper; step granddaughter Ceara Lockridge; 4 great grandchildren; stepchildren Michael Thompson, Bill Thompson, Shelly (Crouse) Thompson, Kimberly Thompson and Alice Ramey; sisters Connie Watts and Bernice Haines, both of Zanesville.
William was preceded in death by his wife Sonja (nee Loterbaugh) Harper; parents Larry and Lucille (nee Moore) Harper; brothers Harry “Junior” and John Harper; sisters Leona Smith and Violet Blake.
Family will receive friends at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Greg Lockridge will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
