Wayne Richard "W.W." Watson's Obituary
Wayne Richard “W.W.” Watson, age 68, of North Olmsted, formerly of North Ridgeville and Elyria, Ohio, died at home on March 5th in the care of his family following a long illness. Wayne was born in Elyria on May 14, 1952, and spent his early years there on Erie Street, and exploring Cascade Park. He worked in various industrial settings throughout his life, including steel mill, Stanadyne, and as a quality and safety manager at Progressive Processing in Elyria for a number of years. Wayne enjoyed Pink Floyd, bowling, woodworking and home improvement, the Pittsburgh Steelers, exploring nature preserves, feeding wildlife, family vacations and get-togethers (as long as ice cream was readily available), and watching his favorite movies with his family. He was an avid amateur photographer, wrote children’s stories for his daughters, and was VERY proud to have been a sober alcoholic for 33 years. His family will miss him and his wicked sense of humor every day. He was very much himself. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Folley Prentice, and father-in-law Jack Buterbaugh. He is survived by his wife of thirty years Nadine Buterbaugh; daughters Kiah Watson and Kelsey Watson (Nick Govelovich) of North Ridgeville, Tonya Watson of Cedar Bluff, AL. and Jodi Sanders Kocak (Tony) of Elyria; father Richard P. Watson (Lorna) of Punta Gorda, FL., Sisters Gail Reed (Dennis) of Columbia Station and Cindy VanMeter (Don) of Phoenix, AZ; brother Robert Watson of Phoenix, AZ; mother-in-law Shirley Buterbaugh and brother and sister-in- law Eric and Terry Buterbaugh of N. Ridgeville. Wayne was blessed with 5 grandchildren and a great-grandson, and 4 much loved nieces and great-nieces. Memorial Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2-4 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Private inurnment will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, N. Ridgeville.
