Wavelene G. Meeks' Obituary
Wavelene G. Meeks (nee Skinner), age 97, of LaGrange, entered into eternal life
on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Renaissance Retirement Campus in
Olmsted Falls.
She was born on April 5, 1925 in Normantown, West Virginia, where she was
raised by her loving parents along with her two brothers. At the age of 19, she
took a bus to Akron, Ohio, where she met the love of her life, Charlie. They were
married for 52 years and together they raised three children in North Ridgeville
while instilling family values, love and respect. They were both long time
members of Fields United Methodist Church where they worshipped and gained
the friendship of many members of the congregation.
Her legacy continues through her daughter Charlene (Bob) Stephens of LaGrange;
grandchildren Brian (Beth) Ritchie, Greg (Amanda) Ritchie, Heather (Steve)
Preckel, Heidi (Mike) Lacy, Mathew (Katherine) Stephens, Evan (Andrea)
Stephens; great grandchildren Ashlee, Brian, Sophie, Jack, Rowan, Grant, Spencer,
Faith, Kiersten, Kaden; great-great grandchild Everleigh; many nieces and
nephews.
Wavelene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Meeks; sons Robert
and Richard Meeks; parents Coy and Iola (nee Snyder) Skinner, brothers Kenneth
and Denzil Skinner.
We were all so very blessed to have such a kind and amazing woman in our lives
who brightened our day just by hearing her voice or seeing her smile. She has
touched the hearts of many with her beautiful spirit.
Family will receive friends in the Fields United Methodist Church on Tuesday,
December 27 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Mar Bruner will officiate the service at 12:00 noon.
Interment will be in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Fields United Methodist Church would be
appreciated.
