Wavelen Carpenter-Richmond's Obituary
Wavelen Carpenter-Richmond (nee Honaker), age 70, of Columbia Station, died Saturday at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Whitesville, WV and had been a resident of Lorain county all of her adult life.
Mrs. Carpenter-Richmond worked as a plastic injector operator at General Industries of Elyria.
She was a member of the Christian Unity Church, North Eaton and a former member of the Elyria Loyal Order of the Moose, Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an avid Cleveland Indian's fan and enjoyed bowling and visiting with family.
Survivors include her son, Danny Martin, of Pinellas Park, FL; daughters, Mary A. Baker, of Grafton, Patricia A. Johnson, of Harvest, AL, Frances M. Walker, of Grafton, and Donna J. Perrine, of Columbia Station; stepsons, James F. Carpenter, of Altamonte Springs, FL and Ronald L. Carpenter, of Inwood, WV; eighteen grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James R. Martin; her 2nd husband, Cecil F. Carpenter; parents, William "Red" Honaker and Rettie Hazeldine (nee Bonds) and stepfather, Elmer Centers.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday. Reverend Denver Daniel, pastor of Christian Unity Church, North Eaton will officiate. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
