Wanda Bako's Obituary
Wanda A. Bako, age 82, a resident of Oberlin for the past 6 years and formerly of North Ridgeville, died peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in her home.
Wanda was born June 1, 1930 in Akron. She married Frank Bako on June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1991. Her parents, Teofil and Stanislawa (Mazurkiewicz) Lament; sisters, Stella Wyrwin and Irene Drage, and brother, Chester Lament, also preceded her in death.
Wanda retired in 1993 from Elyria Memorial Hospital where she was an LPN for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin and its church choir and had been a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Mother's Club in North Ridgeville. In her free time she enjoyed crochet, cooking, doing crossword puzzles and gardening. She found her greatest enjoyment in spending time with people, especially her family. Wanda will be fondly remembered for her positive, supportive demeanor and for consistently living her faith.
Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Christine (Bill) Warren, Union, KY, Frank (Melissa) Bako, Elyria, Barbara (Matt) Dean, Englewood, FL, Becky (Ray) Rigsby, North Ridgeville, Nancy (Jeff) Lauren, Elyria, Angie (Jerry) Willard, North Ridgeville, and Carrie (Jeff) Biro, Elyria; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, with Father Robert Cole presiding. Private burial will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
