Vivian Rakovan's Obituary
Vivian E. Rakovan (nee Paad), age 84, of North Olmsted died on Friday, October 31, 2008 at her home following a short illness.
Vivian was born in Alpena, MI. She had resided in North Ridgeville before moving to North Olmsted 20 years ago.
She had worked in the clerical department of the Union Carbide-Battery Manufacturing Company in Westlake from 1974 until her retirement in 1990.
She served in the United States Army Air Force during WW II.
Mrs. Rakovan attended Saint Richard Catholic Church, North Olmsted.
Surviving are her son, Michael (Mary Ann) Rakovan, of North Ridgeville and daughter, Susan Rakovan, of North Olmsted; grandchildren, Michael, Bethany and Andrew Rakovan; sisters, Irene Masarik, of North Olmsted and Marge, King, of Lakewood.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents, Gustav and Lydia (nee Krause) Paad; brothers, Elmer, Arthur, and Carl; sister, Marie Stearn.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where prayers will be said on Wednesday at 8:45 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 AM at Saint Richard Church, 26855 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted.
Burial will take place on Wednesday at 12:30 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
