Virginia L. "Ginny" Umpirowicz's Obituary
Virginia L. “Ginny” Umpirowicz (nee Curnutte), age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was a resident of North Ridgeville since 2013 moving from Oxford, Michigan.
She worked as a Head Teller for various banks throughout the Midwest retiring in 1994 after 20 years.
She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Lake Orion, Michigan and current member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgeville where she was active with the Prime Timers and a Eucharistic Minister.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, card making, bowling, BINGO and reading Mystery books.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Joseph, son, Michael (Betty) Umpirowicz of North Ridgeville, daughter, Karen (Bruce) Herzog of Winchester, Virginia, brother, James Curnutte of Westland, Michigan, half-brother, Patrick (Carmella) Chmiel and half-sister, Mary Christine (James) Patarello both of Warren, Michigan, sister-in-law, Nora Curnutte.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Umpirowicz, parents, Willard and Bridget Curnutte, brother, Edward Curnutte, sister, Patricia Pike and brother-in-law, Edward Pike.
Friends may call Friday 4-7PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 12:30PM followed by a 1PM Mass at St. Julie’s Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. George Vrabel, Pastor will be the celebrant. The Mass will be live streamed at www.stjuliebilliart.org. Due to Covid-19, social distancing masks will be required.
Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
