Virginia Clark's Obituary
Virginia Marcine Clark (nee Hootman) passed away Saturday January 16, 2010 at Bradley Bay Assisted Living, Bay Village.
Born at Mt. Zion, Van Buren County, Iowa on January 30, 1920, she was the eldest of three children of the late Ira M. And Mary Ethel (Teal) Hootman. She grew up in Fairfield, Iowa, graduating in 1938 from Fairfield High School.
She married Robert G. Clark July 3, 1948 in Iowa. They had no children. The couple lived in Davenport, Iowa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lastly in Westlake, Ohio for many years.
Ginny was a homemaker who was quite accomplished in the domestic arts. She taught her nieces how to sew and also passed onto them her interest in antiques. Ginny also loved cats. An avid collector of primitive and Victorian country antiques, Ginny sold at the Williams House in Avon and the Deacon's Bench in Rocky River.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Bob, who died in 1995.
Surviving are nephews Rick Fredericks of Hartland, WS, David Fredericks of Fairfield, IA, John B. Hootman of Berea and nieces Judith H. Tunnell of Chest Springs, PA, Jill C. Hootman of Clarksville, TN and Jennifer H. Graham of Kennesaw, GA. A grand-niece, Jamie Hootman looked after Ginny in recent year and devoted many hours to her affairs. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa.
