Viola Jean Newton's Obituary
Viola Jean Newton (nee Ambrus), age 96, of Avon Lake, passed away on July 11, 2023 at the Avenue in North Ridgeville. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and had been a resident of Avon Lake for the past 20 years. Viola was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking shows, puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elyria.
She is survived by son, Dennis (Jean) Newton of Brookville, PA, daughters, Denise (Don) Brisbine of North Ridgeville, Diane Burkhard of Avon Lake, Devis (Tom) Leopold of LaGrange, grandchildren John (Lisa) Slater of Columbia Station, Amy (Richie) Cashdollar of Cranberry, PA, Anne Timms of Lake Wales, FL, Jessica Hartly of Lorain, Kristie (Martin) Jochmann of WI, Josh (Rica) Burkhard of Dayton, great-grandchildren Luke Cashdollar, Daniel Cashdollar, Kemarah Hartley, Sienna Hartley, AJ Legard, Michael Timms, Lilian & Gus Jochmann, Nate McLaughlin, brother Ted Ambrus of CA, sister Aurora Justine of Fullerton, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband Carlton Newton, parents Ida and George Ambrus, brothers, George and Edwin, sister, Cornilia; granddaughter Jacqueliine McLaughlin.
