Viola Gilmore's Obituary
Viola Mae Gilmore (nee Ruddy), age 97, of Avon Lake, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, at North Ridge Health Center, N. Ridgeville.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Avon Lake since 2000 moving from Avon where she lived since 1972. She previously lived in N. Ridgeville for over 50 years.
Mrs. Gilmore was the co-owner and operator of Gilmore's Greenhouse in N. Ridgeville, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of Avon United Methodist Church and the Avon Autumn Rebels Senior Citizens Group. She enjoyed reading, dancing and roller skating.
Survivors include her sister, Alberta (Ron) Alford of Traverse City, Michigan; daughter in law, Jennifer Gilmore of Elyria and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in January 1970; son, Robert Jr. In 1979; brother, Marshall Ruddy, sister, Alice Breitenbach and sister in laws, Mildred and Ethel Gilmore.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM Tuesday at Ridgeville Cemetery and the Corner of Center Ridge Rd and Stoney Ridge Rd. Rev. John Butcho will officiate.
