Vicki Louise Rahrig's Obituary
Vicki Louise Rahrig (nee Holbrook), age 57, of Elyria, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center.
She was born on June 28, 1963 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and was adopted on her first birthday by Victor and Opal Holbrook. She grew up and had lived in North Ridgeville her whole life until recently moving to Elyria.
She graduated in 1982 from North Ridgeville High School and then started working as a nurse’s aide at Lutheran Home in Westlake where she worked for 37 years, retiring just two weeks ago.
Vicki was an accomplished roller skater, having won many awards, until at the age of 16 when she became her father’s caregiver after he suffered a stroke.
She met her husband of 34 years. Jeffrey on February 14, 1984. He proposed to her at the Ridgeview Sunoco, now known as Chuck’s Muffler. They married on Friday, October 3, 1986.
She enjoyed traveling by steam train with her husband and visiting historic Railroads.
Vicki was an active member of First Baptist Church in Elyria, where she was involved in Bible studies and the Ladies Devotional group.
She is survived by her husband Jeffrey and was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Opal Holbrook, her in-laws, Louise and Otto Rahrig and aunt and uncle, Thelma and Russell Tite.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Reverend Patrick Odle will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Social distancing and wearing of masks will be required.
