Vestal Sherrill's Obituary
Vestal C. Sherrill, age 71, of Elyria, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Crossville, TN and has been a resident of Elyria since moving to Elyria as a child.
He worked as welder for General Motors Fisher Body, Elyria and retired in 1989. He was a member of the UAW Local 780.
He enjoyed fishing, flower and vegetable gardening, and being an original member of the Red Barn Riders Motorcycle Club.
Vestal is survived by his companion of many years, Jewel Sherrill, of Elyria; son, Mark Sherrill, of Deland, FL; daughters, Geneva Trull, of Taylor, MI, Janet Pryor, of Ashland, OH and Shirley Chambers, of Edgewater, FL; step-son, Jackie R. Sherrill, of North Olmsted, OH; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Verlon Sherrill, of West Salem,OH; Vinton Sherrill, of Elyria, OH and Lonnie Sherrill, of Camden, SC; sisters, Vona Lee Bozman, of Elyria, OH and Lottie Walden, of Ravenna, OH.
He is preceded in death by his daughters, Anna Mae Sherrill (1958) and Judy Kurtz (2006); parents, Albert Sherrill and Eula Mae Sherrill-Osborne (nee Nail).
Family will receive friends at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
