Urban John Halke Jr.'s Obituary
Urban John Halke Jr., age 84, of Brunswick, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Plum Creek Assisted Living in Brunswick.
He was born on December 13, 1938 in Harrisburg, PA and has been a resident of Brunswick for the past three years, moving from Cuyahoga Falls. He was a regional manager for Philip Morris, retiring in the 1990’s after 30 years of service. Urban was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Cuyahoga Falls, which he helped maintain for many years, and was also a part of the Brown Baggers group.
In his free time, Urban enjoyed fishing, watching sports, reading western novels and singing in various choirs.
He is survived by his children Doug (Susan) Halke of North Ridgeville, Michelle (John) Principi of Pinckney, Michigan and Mark Halke of Brunswick; grandchildren Christopher Halke and Zoe and Carlie Principi; sister Cassie “Cass” (Donald) Conrad; brother William (Susan) Halke.
Urban was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Fleming Halke; parents Urban J. Sr. and Mildred (nee Schuler) Halke; sisters Evelyn Dillensnyder, Mildred Joanne “Joan” Harling and Joyce Musser.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Urban’s name to the American Cancer Society, the ALS Association or the Yellow Breeches Anglers and Conservation Association.
Services will be private.
