Tony Helton's Obituary
Tony I Helton, age 60, of North Olmsted, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in Ashland, Kentucky and had been a resident of North Olmsted for the past 3 years moving from Elyria. He previously lived in Avon Lake and LaPorte, Texas.
Tony worked for several chemical companies including ArisTech Petro Chemical in LaPorte, Texas, where he was a Plant Controller from 1979-1991.
He taught safety classes, firefighting, OSHA and EPA regulations at several chemical companies.
He enjoyed golf, horseback riding and riding motorcycles and rode his own across the country.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Carol (nee Williams); daughter, Sheri Lynn and son-in-law Jerry Brown of Ellet, Ohio; step-sons, Mike Wheller of Cleveland, Curtis Leonard of North Ridgeville; step-daughter, Brenda (Dana) Clarke of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Cory, Sadie, Michael, Elizabeth, Dana III; sisters, JoAnn Powell of Akron, Donna Doane of Cuyahoga Falls.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Hazel Helton.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Cathedral of Life, 5375 Jaycox Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. John Helms, Pastor, will officiate. Arrangements by the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville.
