Tony Dutton's Obituary
Tony R. Dutton, 57, of LaGrange, died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at his home following a short illness.
Mr. Dutton was born in Paintsville, KY, and had been a resident of LaGrange since 1988, moving from Elyria. He retired as a postmaster in 2005 from the Spencer Post Office following thirteen years of service. Prior to that, he had been employed at the Elyria Post Office for eighteen years. He was a US Army Veteran who served during Vietnam. He was a member of Christian Unity Church, North Eaton, where he enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and was involved in the nursing home visitation ministry and youth ministry programs.
Surviving is his wife of thirty-six years, Garnette (nee Webb); daughter, Dawn Daniel (Denver Lee), of North Ridgeville; son, David A. (Ginny), of Oberlin, six grandchildren, Denver Scott, Caleb and Halle Daniel and Katie, Alyssa and David Adam Dutton; brother, Walter T. (Carol), of North Ridgeville; and sisters, Brenda Kay Adams (Richard), of Elyria and Pam Brumfield (John) of Boons Camp, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Kathleen C. Dutton; infant brother, Palmer Dutton, Jr. and infant sister, Barbara Jean Dutton.
Family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Saturday at Christian Unity Church, 36353 W. Capel Rd., North Eaton. Rev. Denver Daniel, Pastor will officiate. Burial in River Rd. Cemetery, LaGrange, where the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
