Todd M. Armbruster's Obituary
Todd Michael Schwirtz Armbruster died peacefully at his home in Clearwater, FL on February 10, 2021 at age 47. He was born on April 5, 1973 in State College, PA to his father and mother, Mike and Judy Schwirtz, both of whom passed away before Todd’s 14th birthday.
Todd played tennis on his high school team at Elyria Catholic. After graduation, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather — Ben A. Schwirtz, who flew reconnaissance missions in the Pacific during World War II — and joined the United States Marine Corps. Todd devoted his early adult years to his service, an experience that reinforced his sense of loyalty to God, country, family, and friends. He remained a strong supporter of the U.S. military throughout the rest of his life.
Todd had a big heart and a constant sense of humor, one most often revealed in the form of an in-context, off-the-cuff movie quote. He found his true purpose in life when his daughter Ally, now 14, was born, and wherever he is now, Todd is most likely driving a pick-up truck with the windows down, tagging a drag off a Marlboro red with Tool or Metallica blaring on the sound system.
In addition to Ally, Todd is survived by a large extended family that includes his brothers Ben, Bryon, Jason, Russell, and William; sisters Amy and Heather; and parents Jeff and Lee, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A committal service with full military honors will take place 2:45 PM Friday, July 23 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH 44273.
